For many Path of Exile players out there, they may not be very confident when it comes to playing Duelists. While just as good as other classes when it comes to the amount of fun to be had, some have their doubts while other think that there are ways for this class to shine as other character classes can. With the right Path of Exile items and know-how, the Blender Duelist is a prime candidate for gameplay excellence.
The Blender is one of the more well-known builds for the Duelist as it lets players farm as effectively as Marauders, if not better. There have been a lot of changes to the build though due to patch updates and balance changes in the game, and the metagame is being worked hard to maintain the integrity and effectiveness of this build. While some elements have since become obsolete, the good news is that the basic gist of the build is still workable to this day.
What you can get from this build is 40,000+ AOE DPS in the end game while being able to go from being nearly dead back to full health as quickly as a second and have high survivability overall. Despite this, you'll be the most mobile in the game, even if you don't use quicksilver flasks. Because of this, you can farm bosses quite well and get more loot as a result. If you wish to use this build for other melee classes, then you may do so, but take note that it actually works best for the Duelist as that class has the easiest time in leveling up.
Take note though that this build has no critical damage bonuses, has problems with mana early in the game, very reliant on good gear in the late game, and shows difficulty in reaching resist caps without getting extra resist passives that can take away from other passives. Be ready to make these sacrifices if you wish to use the Blender Duelist build, but it can be said that they will be worth the trouble if you're willing to put in the work to see it all the way through.
Your primary damage dealing skill is Dual Strike, something that's common with most Duelist builds due ot the amount of DPS that's possible with this build. You then augment it with Melee Splash and Multistrike, then with Melee Physical Damage, Added Fire Damage, Faster Attacks, and Blood Magic to form the cornerstone of your offense. You can then use other skills like Cyclone if you aren't afraid of desyncs, Leap Slam, and Whirling Blades. Cast on Damage Taken and Auras then augment your survivability, so monsters can't hit you without getting punished for it.
As for items, the one that is usually talked about in this build is Bringer of Rain, a unique nightmare bascinet helm that gives tremendous amounts of armor and evasion, as well as other bonuses that give your character a whole lot of survivability and even some offensive boosts. The only drawback to it is that you can't wear chest armor, so you'll have to get most of your defensive stats from other sources. The good thing about this item though is that since it gives so much for what it does, you'll be nigh invincible if you're at a high level and have every other piece of gear needed.
